World Fashion Shorts is a one-day multimedia installation combining fashion, cinema and video art. It contains a collection of bright short films that have received awards at international fashion film festivals. The project was first presented on November 30, 2023, as a special event of the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, attracting significant interest from both its guests and the broader, predominantly young audience. The films, which explore fashion in the context of cultural diversity, and their unique presentation enchanted viewers. The videos were shown on multiple screens around the hall's perimeter, allowing the audience to choose their viewing strategy – whether focusing on a particular film being highlighted or freely exploring visual rhymes and contrasts, creating their own "montage" of moving images surrounding them.

The spring edition of World Fashion Shorts will be held in the same location, maintaining its "full immersion" format with stunning and sometimes exotic multimedia visuals. Several thematic video streams ("City," "Nature," "Body," "Emotions," "Forms," etc.) will feature new fashion films. The public talk, involving international guests, will focus on the development of this genre in Russia and worldwide. In 2024, World Fashion Shorts will evolve from a special Fashion Week event into a regular festival and laboratory – a meeting place for directors and designers, connecting different worlds and art forms. The project's strategic goal is to foster cooperation with fashion film festivals globally, creating a network for regular exchange and integration of films and experiences. In 2024, WFS partnered with the Cinettica Festival (Mexico – USA) and the Buenos Aires – Miami International Fashion Film Festival (Argentina – USA).

The genre of short fashion films is rapidly evolving worldwide. The World Fashion Shorts collection features videos from South Africa, North America, Central and Southeast Asia, Russia, and Belarus. Together, they showcase a rich variety of cultures and broaden the understanding of fashion. The experimental multimedia format of WFS emphasizes this diverse aspect of fashion films.
